Half of Kyiv without electricity

Several witnesses told Reuters news agency that at least two explosions were heard in Kyiv.

According to mayor Vitalij Klitschko in Kyiv, two apartment blocks have been hit by missiles. He also said that several missiles were shot down over the city on Tuesday.

It’s unclear how many were injured. According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia has fired 100 missiles in raids across the country. This was reported by NTB.

According to witnesses, smoke could be seen billowing from the city. In various photos published on social media, columns of black smoke can be seen.

– Russian terrorists carry out another planned attack on electrical installations. The situation is critical, the deputy head of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said in a statement on Tuesday, wrote NTB.

– The situation in the capital is very difficult, he added.

AFP, citing Klitschko, reported on Tuesday afternoon that at least half of Kyiv was without power.

The attacks in the Ukrainian capital came hours after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to the G20 about what he believes is needed to achieve peace.

Witnesses also reported explosions in several other Ukrainian cities.
