Surely you have seen videos with film fragments more than once on TikTok. Even if users share only short sequences, it is more than enough to catch your attention and make you want to know what movie it is about.
So all you have to do is head over to the comments section to see if some of the users answered your question. Soon, however, this task will be unnecessary as TikTok will allow users to bookmark movies and TV shows in their videos.
TikTok will have a page dedicated to movies and shows with information from IMDb
For this dynamic to work, each label is linked to a specific page within the app with information provided by IMDb. A page that collects all related videos and other information about the film.
So you don’t just bookmark the title of the movie or show on the video. You’ll also have a page with other TikTok videos referring to that title, as well as relevant information. A dynamic that benefits not only users, but also content creators who review movies, and even media platforms to promote their new titles.
And as a bonus, TikTok will also allow users to save any of the titles in the “Favourites” section. So TikTok can be your new movie billboard or the place to go for movie and show recommendations.
One detail to keep in mind about this new dynamic is that TikTok is not rolling it out globally. At least at this early stage it will only be available for US and UK users. While they haven’t provided more details about this feature, we expect it to roll out globally in the near future.
