Version 42 of the Anato Tourist Showcase will be installed today at 10:00 in the Corferias Auditorium, in Bogotá, with the participation of the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro. (Read here: “Tourism in Cartagena suffers from insecurity”: Anato).
32 state departments and the Capital District (Bogotá) will attend with their booths and tourist offerings, with the support of the Tourism Promotion Fund (Fontur), an entity that allocates more than 3,227 million pesos to promote regional promotions in the event; while more than 1,200 national and foreign exhibitors and co-exhibitors will be at the fair with their stands of tourism products and services.
Anato expects a visit of 33 thousand professionals from the tourism sector from 40 countries.
The two guest of honor destinations in this version are San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, nationally, and the Dominican Republic, internationally. 258,856 Colombians visited the Caribbean nation in 2022; while 88,193 Dominicans visited Colombia.
Cartagena and Bolivar will be at ‘La Vitrina’ with a booth to promote their attractions. La Heroica will feature a variety of experiences and the department seeks to consolidate other objectives that complement the district capital’s offer.
Starting tomorrow and in conjunction with the Anato Tourist Showcase, the Colombia Travel Mart (CTM) business conference will be held at the Corferias pavilion (Bogotá), organized by ProColombia, where at least 160 businessmen from 22 countries and national businessmen will spend two days scheduled appointments for business tourist.
Many of these buyers previously participated in outreach trips to various destinations in the country, including Bolivar, Cundinamarca, Antioquia, La Guajira, Risaralda, and Quindío, recalls Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia. On Bolivar, entrepreneurs tour Cartagena and nearby destinations such as San Jacinto, Mompox and Palenque.
Buyers were from Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, United States, Canada, France, United Kingdom, Poland, Netherlands and Mexico.
