MORNING NEWS: Biden Says NATO Will Not Surrender; London criticizes Ukraine; the dollar falls
The NATO summit ended with the biggest support for a country not part of the alliance, which was none other than Ukraine, but as if the announcement from the allies wasn’t enough, Joe Biden’s final message was rolled out directly to Russia. US President Joe Biden has assured that NATO will never give up, under any circumstances, and has promised Zelensky that allies will continue to provide support to Ukraine to strengthen its defences.
Well said within the framework of the NATO summit, after a killer start as Zelensky arrived. However, we cannot rule out these reports and the anger shown by the British defense minister towards the Kyiv leader. Ben Wallace did not hide Ukraine’s veiled reproaches for the fact that NATO did not take steps to implement its entry into the Atlantic Alliance and stressed that “people want to see gratitude” from Kiev for the Western assistance received in fighting Russia.
The dollar has fallen to its lowest level in more than a year as markets expect a dovish stance on prices to affect the Federal Reserve’s roadmap. The dollar index depreciated to 100.54 units, its lowest level since April 2022.
