Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized difficulties at consulates to vote electronically and asked CNE to fix problems | Politics | News

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador has confirmed at 10:40 this Sunday that many consular offices have reported difficulties with voting electronically.

This came about after Ecuadorians abroad reported this anomaly, although CNE, at first, denied it and even described the reported news of this fact as false.

Ecuadorian migrants in cities in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and other European countries have reported difficulties with telematic voting systems.

“We want to choose, we want to choose, we want to choose!” said a group of migrants gathered in Madrid (Spain), in a video posted on social network X, formerly Twitter.

Given the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested CNE, the only competent agency, “immediately take the necessary technical measures to rectify this situation.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, through its consulate, stated that it “has complied with and is complying with its legal and civil responsibilities to disseminate and promote this process, which is the exclusive responsibility of CNE.”
