VALENCE (EP). Valencia City Council is seeking potential investors in the UK who are committed to Valencia’s talent and sustainability with the aim of positioning the city as a technology ‘hub’ where they can invest and build new businesses.
Within this framework, Members of the Innovation, Tourism, Employment and Investment Council of the Valencia City Council, Paula Lobetattended the Mountside Ventures event, held in London, where investors from across Europe gathered, the board said in a statement.
London is one of the main centers of climate technology throughout the world, therefore communication channels are also opened with Innovate UK to collaborate on Green Deal projects within the framework of Europe’s green capital.
At the same time, councilors have held meetings with Valencian startups that have expanded to the UK, such as Sales Layer, to add them as “ambassadors” for the city and seek support when positioning Valencia as an “ “ideal city to invest in.”
In the tourism sector, Llobet held a meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Nuria Montesand with Turespaña’s advisor, Manuel Butlerto pave the way for collaboration in tourism sustainability and strive to position the city as the green capital of Europe.
Council members also participated in meetings organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in London to forge new links with the international ecosystem and strengthen Valencia’s potential.
Finally, Llobet attended the celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Spanish Embassy in London, which this year had the Valencian Community as main sponsor, and was attended by more than 600 people from the British and Spanish communities.
