A giant rat coming out of the toilet: a health problem that caused a shock in the world

Britons are facing an epidemic of cat-sized rats coming out of toilets.

England is at the gates of one of the strongest winters in decades, which is why these rodents, with their uncanny ability to survive several minutes underwater, invade British homes in search of fresh food and shelter.

According to Paul Bates, a spokesman for Cleankill Pest Control, “rat populations are currently at their peak,” he said in an interview with The Sun newspaper.

The Nórwich City Council has started a health campaign with recommendations to combat this problem. The government center advises its citizens to flush toilets before and after use, in addition to closing the lids. In the same way, ask to close the door of the house, to avoid possible rodent intruders.

No excessive precautions are taken, as a wide variety of known ‘small’ animals can transmit to humans, including salmonella, leptospirosis, typhoid and Weil’s disease. The latter can cause fever and bleeding to death, if not treated properly in time.
