Ole Ster was the match winner for Rosenborg, but it was Tengstedt’s new acquisition that stole the show.

– It was an amazing experience. We were under pressure towards the end of the game, but we stood together. It tastes good, the 22-year-old told Discovery.

He has a rich “CV” after just one Rosenborg game: He scored, hit the post and the crossbar, set up teammates, got Halvor Opsahl HamKam sent off – and then he also missed a chance or two.

– We have great confidence in him. We’ve been following him for a long time, and that’s where we are: We have to get those who are just below the best, below those who have made it through, said Rekdal.

– I’m not afraid of competition. We worked very well together, and he was a nice guy, describing Sæter’s attacking partner.

Rosenborg dominated most of the match, but Kristian Onsrud’s perfect ankle got HamKam back into the game. After Sæter’s 2-1 goal after about 70 minutes, the visitors struggled – and did not go far to equalize in stoppage time.

– Rosenborg fully deserved to win, and should have won more too, said HamKam coach Jakob Michelsen and called for quality in his own team.

– It’s not often you see a debut like that, exclaimed Discovery commentator Kenneth Fredheim after more than an hour of playing at Lerkendal.

– He didn’t miss a beat today, judging by expert commentator Jonas Grønner.

Minutes later, the Dane took a good chance but instead Casper Tengstedt got most of the things right on his Rosenborg debut.

  • At 0-0, he broke free and served in front of partner Ole Ster in front of goal, but Sæter missed.
  • RBK’s 1-0 scoreline was Denmark’s combination of Carlo Holse’s cross and Tengstedt’s finish.
  • Just before the break, the 22-year-old could do it again when he picked up a beautiful cross from Olaus Skarsem, but this time the ball hit the post.
  • Then, just before the hour mark, HamKam’s Halvor Opsahl received a red card when he caught Tengstedt, who had a clear path to goal.
  • After just over an hour it hit again, this time on the crossbar from the Dane.
  • Add that Casper Tengstedt is constantly on the move, creating space and chances for his team-mates – and you have an “okay” debut.

Kjetil Rekdal was not only satisfied with the Danish player who immediately entered the eleventh after his transfer from Superliga club Horsens. When Tengstedt missed a big chance, 1-1 after 70 minutes, Rekdal dropped to his knees and thumped the pitch.
