Kevin Spacey says he will appear in court

British prosecution authority CPS (Crown Prosecution Service, ed.) announced last week that charges had been filed against Kevin Spacey for four cases of sexually assaulting three men.

The attacks are said to have taken place between 2006 and 2013.

Kevin Spacey declared his innocence.

Disappointed

In a statement to Good Morning America, he said he was “confident” that he would prove his innocence.

“I really appreciate the statement from the CPS that they have clearly reminded the media and the public that I am entitled to a fair trial, and that I am innocent until proven guilty. While I am disappointed with their decision to proceed with this case, I will voluntarily appear in the UK as soon as possible to defend myself against these accusations, which I believe can prove my innocence ยป , Spacey said.

Kevin Spacey was one of the most prominent actors in the world until in 2017, serious accusations surfaced against him. An actor claims that when he was 14 years old he was sexually assaulted by Spacey in 1986. At that time Spacey was 26 years old.

Spacey responded with an apology on Twitter, where he wrote that he had no recollection of the incident, but was shocked to hear this and apologized “if he behaved that way” for what “must have been very inappropriate behavior in a drunken state”.

After this, another 14 people also came with charges against Spacey.

Paid back 277 million

The 62-year-old is known for big films such as “American Beauty”, “Seven” and “The Suspects”, as well as the Netflix series “House of Cards”.

In 2021, it became known that he paid back 31 million dollars to MRC, the studio that produced the final series. This is equivalent to 277 million Norwegian kroner.

Spacey was fired from the House of Cards on charges of sexual harassment and abuse.

The studio later wrote about the series to remove its characters, reducing the number of episodes from 13 to eight, resulting in a huge loss of revenue for the company.
