The president of the American technology company, Brad Smith, pointed out in a company blog post that Microsoft team “condemns” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and coordinates with the governments of the United States, European Union and UK to comply with sanctions imposed on Moscow.

“We believe we are most effective in assisting Ukraine when we take concrete steps in coordination with decisions made by the government and will take further steps as the situation develops,” Smith said in the note.

The Microsoft chief assured that he remains focused on protecting Ukrainian cybersecurity and is working “proactively” so that his officials defend themselves against Russian computer attacks, including the “recent cyberattack on a major Ukrainian television channel.”

The company joins other big tech companies that have taken action to isolate Russia, such as Google, which hours ago told The New York Times it was suspending its advertising business in the country after previously crippling its ads on media-produced content. country.

Google alleged that Russia’s internet regulator required it to stop running ads that contained what it believed to be false information about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, creating “extraordinary circumstances” that it has chosen to suspend all advertising business.

This week, Apple decided to suspend sales of its products in Russia, and rental platform Airbnb crippled all of its operations in the country and in Belarus.
