Ministry of Health issues new guidelines for ‘isolation at home’; Check out the new rules here

New Delhi: The Federal Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday published new guidelines for home isolation after 19.

Under the new rules, Covit-19 patients who are clinically classified as mild/asymptomatic are eligible for home isolation.

Patients over 60 years of age and those with comorbidities will be allowed to self-isolate at home only after proper medical evaluation.

“Home isolation after 7 days of positive testing without fever for 3 consecutive days after which no further testing is required. People with asymptomatic contacts do not need to undergo the Govit-19 test,” the Health Ministry said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday said that the emigrant variant of Govit-19 is spreading rapidly compared to other genres and one should be careful there but be careful not to create panic.

“Compared to previous variations, Omicron is spreading rapidly…very contagious…our health professionals are evaluating the situation. It is clear that we must ensure that we avoid panic.

He said the miracle of success this time was the precautionary, proactive and collaborative approach taken by the central and state governments to control the spread of the virus.

According to data shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 264,202 Government-19 cases were reported in India on Friday with a positive test rate of 14.78 percent in the past 24 hours.

New cases were up 6.7 percent compared with the government’s 247,417 new infections from 19 on Thursday.

India also recorded 5,753 cases of the Omigron variant and according to the Ministry of Health, the daily number for Omigron increased 4.83% in the last 24 hours.
