The MSP considers that the new position expressed by Minister Albares, which is highly appreciated, reinforces the true hope and desire of the Saharawi people to turn the page of war and exile and, consequently, conforms to Spain’s historical and moral responsibility in relation to the problems that have made generations of Saharawi suffer. and has undermined the stability and integration of the Arab Maghreb.

While expressing its willingness to encourage and contribute to any Spanish initiative aimed at providing an honorable and just solution that ends the suffering of the Saharawi people, the MSP Permanent Political Commission once again reaffirmed its support and cooperation with the efforts of the UN envoy, Staffan de Mistura, to uphold the ceasefire and resumed the political process that was interrupted in Geneva in May 2019.
