Led by a disgraceful prince

During memorial services, Queen Elizabeth, who is celebrating her 70th year on the throne, is sometimes clearly marked as she remembers her husband of more than 73 years.

With her was her son Prince Andrew, who led his mother to church. It is the first time the scandal-ridden prince has appeared in public following the settlement of a harassment case in February.

In mid-January, it became known that Prince Andrew had renounced his royal and military titles, and was no longer allowed to use “His Royal Highness”.

She (the queen) has made it clear that Andrew can participate and have a role in family events, former BBC royal house correspondent Peter Hunt says, according to the AFP news agency.

He also stressed that the prince vehemently denied the accusations.
