Ukraine.- Britain barred entry into Parliament the Russian ambassador in London

The British Parliament’s highest authority has barred “until further notice” entry to the Palace of Westminster of Russia’s ambassador in London, Andrei Kelin and other Russian diplomatic personnel in the British Isles.

This has been announced in a joint statement by the president of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and his counterpart in the House of Lords, Lord John McFall, according to British newspaper ‘The Guardian’.

The ban is based on the fact that neither Kevin nor other members of the Russian embassy in London have operated informally in the UK since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began nearly four months ago, though now is the first. this time is confirmed in writing.

“As an accredited official representative of the Russian Government, the ambassador will not be admitted to the parliament’s courtyard until further notice,” the presidents of both houses of Parliament have been removed.

Finally, the note reminded British lawmakers who were recently sanctioned by Moscow that London would not issue them visas to enter Russia and, if they reached the border, they would be immediately deported.

Similarly, Parliament has urged its members not to travel to areas under Russian “control or influence”, such as Belarus, the border area between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the separatist region of Transnistria or the Donbas region, in eastern Ukraine.
