Venezuela and Britain strengthen diplomatic ties

This Wednesday, August 30, Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Yvan Gil, have an important meeting with British Charge d’Affaires in Venezuela, Colin Dickto strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In meetings between Venezuelan and British representatives, issues related to effective communication mechanism within the framework of an equal relationship and respect sovereignty.

Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs stated via X (formerly Twitter) that “Here’s one opportunities to improve diplomatic relations within a framework of equality and mutual respect”.

So this meeting between Venezuela and England is part of bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, implemented by President Nicolas Maduro. Through that the Government predicted strengthen ties with the world based on respect and community self-determination.

On 15 August, the European country appointed Colin Dick as Britain’s diplomatic representative in Venezuela.

“I am very excited to represent England in Venezuela. I am grateful and happy with the kindness of the Venezuelan people”Dick said.

Dick most recently served as Head of Department and Acting Director of the Department for the UK’s Exit from the European Union (2017-2019). He also served as director in charge of the country’s Cabinet Office.

Venezuela and Indonesia

In line with that, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister also held a working meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador Republic Indonesia In Venezuela, Imam Edy Mulyono, with whom he strengthened the bonds of friendship to continue “increasing the level of cooperation between our countries”.

Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Indonesia began in 1959, both countries seek to expand their relations in terms of trade and investment. Especially in the fields of tourism, technology, chemicals and natural gas.
