The Vikings host a soccer party at 5-1 victory in the first match against Sligo Rovers. But in the game back in the Conference League, they were pretty toothless.

– There might be some Viking fans feeling frustrated after this match. You win very comfortably at home, and then you play very little away, said football commentator Petter Bø Tosterud at VG studios after the game.

A little created in the first half is Sligo Rovers. Just before half-time, they got their lucky goal, when a cross crossed Sondre Bjørshol and perfectly crossed Patrik Gunnarsson in the net.

Sligo Rovers needed three more goals for the game to go into extra time.

BEHIND: The Vikings sometimes looked like they were on autopilot in the game against Sligo Rovers.

The second half was also devoid of fireworks, but the home side saw a rare hope of recovery when they were awarded a penalty, with fifteen minutes remaining.

Frank Liivak picked it up, but Patrik Gunnarsson went in the right direction and was able to knock him out. The Sligo rover hit the rebound first, but with a brilliant leg parade the Viking keeper saved again.

– It was a great goalkeeping game by Patrik Gunnarsson, said Gjerde.

No more goals and the Vikings are now ready for the playoffs to the Conference League. In the playoffs, FC Romania will meet FCSB.
