Study methodology
The focus of the survey is on different nations around the world, seeks to explore the most important differences and similarities between them. The countries evaluated for this study were: Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, India and Mexico, taking into account small companies (with less than 50 employees) originating from these countries. Overall, the survey obtained information from around 5,094 entrepreneurs and small business owners, to 509 of them were from Mexico.
Global entrepreneurial landscape

Regarding the ages of the people leading the company, 23% of entrepreneurs in India are aged between 18-25, whereas in countries such as Germany, only 20% of respondents fall within this age range. Mexican companies and the importance of a website

Similarly, Mexico leads as one of the countries where women’s entrepreneurship has started to gain great power, since the era 59% of Mexican businesses are led by women. As for the main motivator for opening their own business, as in Brazil, Mexican entrepreneurs consider the possibility of generating additional income to be the main reason.
Regarding the issue of digitalization, the survey shows that more than three-quarters of entrepreneurs in Mexico increase their sales by having their own website, representing a higher percentage than in other countries such as the United States or Canada. Besides that, 86% of those surveyed in Mexico stated that they did their own website creation, 47% of them go through a website builder and 11% hire a professional. In addition, Mexican entrepreneurs emphasize that the security of their websites is very important 83% of those surveyed think that SMEs are easy targets for cyberattacks.
