The social network dedicated to video, TikTok, is launching a new feature dedicated exclusively to the book consumption and reading habits of platform users. They call this new update BookTok.
This new function within the social network itself will allow content creators to publish a video that has a link to the digital book they are currently reading, so that in this way others or their followers can find it and even read it or learn more about it.
BookTok originally appeared on social apps as a hashtag, but its large community prompted TikTok to decide, in collaboration with publisher Penguin Random House, to develop this feature.
To access these new TikTok features As creators or content creators, users must:
Record a video about the book specifically. Before posting it, Click on the Add Link optionlocated at the bottom of the application screen.
Within the pop-up window, you will be able to find the Books option, which will allow to add links from certain Penguin Random House books within the video. Once published, the people who interacted with the video You can find more information about the book by clicking on the link.
Although this is a function that, currently only available in the US and UKTikTok does not rule out the possibility that it may reach Latin American users in future updates of its service.
TikTok has surprised us with two other new updates, the first of which relates to a new section named ‘Now’ which is at the same time an additional application to the network dedicated to short videos. In this section you can share more spontaneous and natural images or videos, as the new app forces you to use both the front and back camera such as in the social network BeReal.
In the same way, TikTok recently announced the incorporation of a new functionality in video comments. Now the platform will allow you to give a ‘dislike’ text than anyone else. In other words, a new button is included to provide a better user experience and avoid comments that are inappropriate or that trigger aggression within the community.
