Moldova, Spain and the UK will host, in this order, the next three summits of the new European Political Community with more than 40 leaders attending the first meeting in Prague planning to meet every six months to strengthen peace and security on the continent and strengthen alliances on key issues such as energy.

The proposal for the three countries to follow each other in the next three meetings, every two years, was formally put forward by the President of the Council of Europe, Charles Michel, at the start of an official dinner at Prague Castle that concludes this Thursday’s summit.

The idea has been “celebrated by everyone and applauded indoors”, European sources have indicated, confirming that the movement confirms the calendar by which Europeans wish to consolidate this new dialogue format.

In this way, Moldova, which only a few months ago received accession candidate status from the European Union, will act as host when the 44 leaders meet again under this new format, which will be repeated every six months.

One of the aims of the meeting in Prague was to consolidate this new community project and give it continuity with the upcoming summit calendar ensuring that progress is made on the commitment to closer cooperation between Europeans.

For this reason, in addition to Moldova, the following two places have been assigned, which helps to draw a calendar of one and a half years, which will include a new summit in Spain, during the six-month rotating presidency of the European Union. would also assume.

Britain, whose new prime minister, Liz Truss, has painstakingly emphasized that the European Political Community is a foreign project to the Twenty-seven and does not represent a parallel body, will be the headquarters taking over after Spain.
