Prime Minister Bhagwant Man said on Saturday that the G20 summit scheduled to be held here in March next year would help promote Punjab as the destination of choice for businesses. The Prime Minister said that he would also provide a platform for the government to present its achievements and facilities for creating new businesses, stating that he would work hard to make this event a success.
CM said that this is a golden opportunity when Punjab can present itself as the best land of opportunity and by generating maximum investment they can create new jobs for young people.
The Group of Twenty or the Group of Twenty is the world’s leading intergovernmental forum of developed and developing countries.
Including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and European Union (EU) .
India will be president of the G20 for one year, from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023, and is expected to host more than 200 meetings across the country.
CM Mann, in a meeting here to review preparations for the G20 summit, said that the world’s leading countries are participating in it.
He said his country considers itself lucky to have the opportunity to host this event, where major countries from around the world will discuss education, employment and other critical issues.
He added that extensive arrangements would be made for the success of this world event.
On the occasion, the Minister of Finance said that to make the event a success, administratively Amritsar would be divided into five main sectors.
Senior officials from the sector will be appointed for appropriate management.
During the agreement, these officials will be responsible for facilitating all business in their jurisdiction.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister paid his respects at the Golden Temple with government ministers and greeted people at Bandi Chhor Diwas and Diwali.
Mann also met Akal Takht Gahidr Gianni Harpreet Singh, but nothing was told to the media about the meeting.
