UK crisis: Truss retains corporate tax despite Jeremy Hunt’s appointment
Jeremy Hunt has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom, as announced by British Prime Minister Liz Truss. The British prime minister made his appointment official minutes after the resignation of the previous minister, Kwasi Kwarteng, was announced.
Truss has made it clear that he is keeping corporate taxes at 25% and insists spending will grow more than expected, but that they will do everything possible to reduce debt to GDP.
