After Queen Elisabeth’s death, Sinclair – now an expert for radio station talkSPORT – posted the following message on Twitter:

“Racism was banned in England in the ’60s. It has been allowed to flourish. Why should blacks and browns grieve?”

The message took some people by surprise in the UK. This has later been removed. But now talkSPORT reports:

“Trevor Sinclair will not be on air as we conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances and timing of his Twitter messages. While we respect Trevor Sinclair’s right to express his opinion on his personal Twitter account, talkSPORT does not endorse such Twitter messages.”

Among those who reacted to the message was former Olympic athlete Kelly Sotherton:

– You should be ashamed. I have no other words to match, said the former heptathlete.

Former Notts County owner Alan Hardy doesn’t skimp on candy either:

– You’re embarrassing. I have no words.

Reputable newspaper Telegraph states that Sinclair wrote the message less than two hours after the Queen died.

– This immediately caused hundreds of angry comments. Many are calling for a boycott of talkSPORT, unless Sinclair is fired, the paper wrote.

Several media outlets reported that talkSPORT should have had problems contacting Sinclair afterwards. But on Twitter he now lays flat:

– My Twitter message yesterday was not timely, at a time when the royal family and many people around the world are mourning the Queen. I apologize for any offense I have caused to those who mourn the Queen.

It’s unclear what will happen to his job at talkSPORT.
