Mitma presents Emilio Tuñón with the 2022 National Architecture Award

The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has awarded architect Emilio Tuñón the ’22nd National Architectural Award’, which has been highlighted by the jury for the coherence of his architectural work, mastery of construction techniques and his calling for service to society.

The jury has highlighted his ability to find references in culture, art, literature, history or music and the international recognition of his work, spread throughout Spain. He also credits his work as a teacher with creating a School that brings together generations of architects.

The National Architecture Award, which is awarded with 60,000 euros, is promoted by the Ministry, which awards proposals by a jury of outstanding professionals, under the honorary president of the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda Raquel Sánchez.

The nominations of architects, presented by the Higher Council of the Spanish Colleges of Architects, have been selected by the Jury at a meeting held on Monday, 7 November. Furthermore, the minister, Raquel Sánchez, has been notified, who has given the news to the winner, after which the prize will be awarded by the Ministerial Order.
