Apple’s self-service repair arrives in Spain and other European countries

MADRID, 6 (EUROPA PRESS)

Apple has deployed its self-service repair services to European countries including, among others, Spain, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom, where they have been able to purchase the parts and tools needed to repair the brand’s devices.

The iPhone manufacturer has announced that from now on customers who wish to do their own repairs will be able to perform the most frequently performed repairs on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineup, as well as on Mac laptops with Apple’s chip, the M1.

A total of eight countries can benefit from this repair service: Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, France, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. All will have access to brand genuine parts and repair manuals needed to do the right thing in a Self-Service Repair Shop.

Within the service, more than 200 parts and tools will be available to Apple device owners who are experienced in electronics repair and wish to resolve their own device incidents.

Some of the tools available to consumers include torque wrenches, repair trays, screen vise and batteries.

The company has indicated that all of these materials are those used by its professionals and technicians, both at Apple Stores and at Apple Authorized Service Providers, and are priced the same, as confirmed in a statement sent to Europa Press.

All Apple genuine parts are custom designed for each product and undergo extensive testing to ensure the highest levels of quality and reliability for the owner’s safe use.

Similarly, Apple has indicated that customers may return repaired or replaced parts to the brand for repair and recycling. In most cases, they will receive a discount instead.

On the other hand, the technology manufacturer will offer a week-long tool rental kit for 59.95 euros as an alternative for customers who don’t want to buy this professional tool for single use. It will also be sent free of charge to customers who request it.

With self-service repairs, Apple seeks to expand access to repairs and increase the long-term repair capabilities of its products. These services will co-exist with those already implemented by the brand, with authorized technicians and suppliers, so that customers with no technical experience can continue to come to them to repair their products.

Apple currently has more than 4,000 independent repair providers and a global network of more than 5,000 Authorized Service Providers, serving more than 100,000 active technicians.
