Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre signed a condolence protocol for Queen Elizabeth II Friday afternoon, on behalf of the government. The signing took place at the British ambassador’s residence at Frogner in Oslo.
On behalf of the government, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre wrote that he wished to honor the Queen for her lifetime of loyal and dedicated service and for the important role she played for Great Britain and the Commonwealth. In trying times, he represented leadership and stability, the Prime Minister wrote.
The queen is also important for relations between Great Britain and Norway and for the two royal families across the North Sea, Støre continued.
Queen Elizabeth II demonstrated dedication and charity to millions of people around the world during her seven decades of reign. We will remember it with respect and gratitude, concluded Prime Minister Støre.
