Klaveness accepted the award at a meeting of forum members in Frognerseteren on Wednesday evening.
At the same time, he gave a speech in which he told, among other things, what football has given and what challenges the sport has.
The new president of Norwegian football was in Qatar on the opening weekend of the football World Cup without seeing any games. But he held meetings with his Nordic and European counterparts.
– It’s a new world for me, it’s a steep learning curve, Klaveness told Dagsavisen when she returned from Qatar.
A wise and fearless sports politician
– Lise Klaveness uses law in the interactions between sport, society, politics and rights in bold, innovative and brilliant ways. He listens to input from sports teams, the statement said.
There it says further:
“As president of the Norwegian Football Association, Lise Klaveness has distinguished herself as a wise, intelligent and fearless sports politician. Over the years, she has worked for equality between women and men in football, both outside and inside NFF. He was clear in his stance on the upcoming FIFA World Cup event in Qatar, bold in his criticism of FIFA management and Qatar’s preparations for the championship.
She emerged as a clear role model and champion of human rights, equality and rule of law for all and finding a balance between the exercise of power and the building of relationships”.

Former senior manager
The Sport Policy Forum is an independent association of more than 70 current and former sports managers, athletes, coaches and members of the media. We found, among others, former sports presidents Hans B. Skaset and Arne Myhrvold, former NIF general secretaries Børre Rognlien and Inge Andersen, former top sports manager Bjørge Stensbøl and one of Klaveness’ predecessors at the NFF, Per Ravn Omdal.
The forum leader is Knut W. Engebretsen.
– Once a month we meet at the Toppidrettsentret with an introduction and subsequent debate on important topics in sports policy. We are returning sight to active and administrative sport, he told Dagsavisen.
Lise Klaveness clearly wins this year’s vote.
This is not the first time this year that Klaveness has been honored. He has also received the Freedom of Speech Award for the speech he gave at the FIFA Congress earlier this year. And from the Confederation of Swedish Trade Unions (YS), she has received the Equality Award for 2022.
