In recent days, Wagner’s group has seized control of much of eastern Bakhmut in Ukraine.

In the city centre, the Bakhmutka River now marks the front line, according to the British Ministry of Defense daily intelligence update

– Ukrainian forces control the western part of the city, and have destroyed an important bridge over the river, the British wrote.

Bakhmutka stretches from north to south through the city’s open land and is 200 to 800 meters wide.

– With Ukrainian units able to fire from fortified buildings to the west, this area has become a kill zone.

According to the British, this would be very challenging for Wagner’s troops as they attempted to continue their advance westward.

– The supply lines in the west for Ukrainian troops remain vulnerable to Russian attempts to attack from the north and south.

Russia has deployed a large army to seize Bakhmut, which is located in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. Both Russians and Ukrainians suffered heavy losses in the battle for the city.
