A British student managed to get a reverse parking ticket using a popular artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot. ChatGPTsaid the local media.
Millie Houlton, 22, was fined 60 pounds (about $74) for parking in an illegal lot in the city of York, England. That’s when he decided to use an AI tool to write professional appeal emails.
“I don’t think I would have been able to write it the way ChatGPT did, without him I probably wouldn’t have picked it up,” said Houlton.
According to the student, the ticket was issued incorrectly, because he had a parking permit on his street. Based on the indications from the young woman, the AI tool convincingly drew up a letter to submit the application, indications of RT.
A screenshot of the chatbot response reveals the letter with only a few spaces left to fill, explained that he had left the vehicle behind his house because he had been advised not to do so in front due to road works and he believed he had legally parked it in the designated area.
The young woman submitted the completed letter and within days received a notification from the city council advising her that the application had been accepted.
