Beneficiaries were selected for their participation during the training provided by the Superate project which empowers women
Santo Domingo.- With the aim of continuing to support and promote women’s entrepreneurship, the British Embassy in the country equipped the commercial kitchens Dinanyeli de los Santos and Erines Pie Castillo, which are part of the Mujeres SúperEmprendedoras social program project improve yourself.
The beneficiaries received donations from the British ambassador to the country, Mockbul Ali OBE, and the general director of Supérate, Gloria Reyes.
De los Santos and Pie Castillo, who live in the Domingo Savio sector of the National District, were selected from a group of employers for their participation, interest and commitment.
“We are very proud to still accompany them in the fruit of the project that started two years ago. This time, we are privileged to support them with the purchase of kitchen equipment which they will use to provide affordable food and training, so as to continue the multiplier effect at Domingo Savio”, said Ambassador Ali in his remarks at the award ceremony.
Supérate’s general director, Gloria Reyes, emphasized that “this event reflects that Supérate is more than just a card.” He also thanked the embassy for their support in gatherings like this, where citizens and the state can be made aware that there are programs committed to the development and improvement of families.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Administration for the Ministry of Women (MMUJER) Doris Javier Saint Hilaire praised the efforts made by the Supérate program in collaboration with the British Embassy, for giving Dominican women the opportunity to do so.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Dinanyeli de los Santos conveys a few words of thanks, which show that his life has changed since joining the Mujeres SúperEmprendedoras project, because he has neither the motivation nor the innovation to improve his business.
“I thank Supérate and the British embassy for making a difference to each of us who received training through this project, because I learned everything I needed, personally and microbusiness,” said de los Santos.
The awards ceremony was held at the Dominican Republic Library for Children and Youth (BIJRD), and brought together project participants who have been trained in topics such as self-awareness, life planning, self-esteem, family, entrepreneurship, business evaluation, peaceful conflict resolution and customer service, among others.
Super Entrepreneurial Woman
This initiative generates actions for the benefit of Supérate participants who own or aspire to start micro-enterprises through socio-educational mentoring and training, to improve their living conditions.
Supérate provides mentoring and follow-up to SuperEntrepreneurs women starting businesses, offering the necessary tools for their sustainability. Once the business idea is identified, the participants are referred to the relevant departments to provide on-site support in training, training workshops, follow-up visits, evaluation of business ideas and working groups.
