At least 26 died in tornadoes in the United States

The Midwest and southern United States have been hit by a number of tornadoes this weekend.
Tornadoes claimed lives in Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Alabama and Mississippi, and widespread material damage in several areas, NTB wrote.
According to the BBC, 26 people died, homes and buildings were destroyed, and thousands were without power after the damage from the storm.
The Washington Post writes that more than 60 different tornadoes have been reported in six different states.
On the bathroom floor in the small town of Wynne, Arkansas, Ashley Macmillan sat with her children, husband and their dog, as a storm tore through the neighborhood around them.
– We prayed and said goodbye to each other, because we thought we were dead, Ashley Macmillan told the Associated Press.
– We could feel the house shaking. We heard a loud crash, plates rattling. And then it’s just silence.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas declared a state of emergency on Friday. The National Guard has been deployed in the cleanup work.
