Peñuelas municipal employees will complete a year of four-day work, which does not include a reduction in their five-day monthly pay.
In retrospect, Mayor Gregory Gonsález Souchet assured that municipal services remained unchanged, according to five working days. In addition, he pointed out that reduced absences due to sick leave and a “more relaxed and enjoyable work environment” were reported.
“Almost a year after the implementation of this action to change the working day, the results are evident. Today, our employees appreciate the initiative and recognize the benefits it offers”, explains Gonsález. “This translates into greater motivation and productivity, which results in better service,” he added.
The plan to change working days was approved in July 2022 through Regional Regulation No. 36 Series 2021-2022. It stipulates that the employee will retain the salary earned and will remain in the same classification and scale as stipulated in the Classification and Compensation Plan.
“We set a work cycle for the Public Works brigade and hereby alternate the use of tools, machines and tools. This also applies to other fields of work. The effect is significant because it contributes to maximizing the same life,” he emphasized.
