Martin Ødegaard praised – Moved Liverpool fans

The heavyweight duel between Arsenal and Liverpool is kind of interesting. The home team opened the match better, but it was Arsenal who took the lead. After half an hour of play they doubled their advantage, but Mohamed Salah reduced it just before half-time.

Three minutes from full time, Roberto Firmino ensured the points were cleared at Anfield, and Arsenal dropped two points in the title race.

– We opened well, until they scored. Then they got more of the game shots they wanted, running behind us a lot and we made a lot of simple mistakes. So the second half wasn’t that good, Ødegaard summed up after the game.

Touch gesture

At times there was a hostile atmosphere on the pitch. In the minutes before half-time, Anfield was heating up and in particular Gabriel Jesus and Fabinho came at each other several times.

Despite the hostile atmosphere, even before the game Arsenal and Ødegaard showed their class and respect. Along with Arteta, Ødegaard carried a large wreath which they placed at the memorial to the horrific Hillsborough crash that occurred in 1989.

97 people died at Sheffield Wednesday when Liverpool and Nottingham Forest met in the FA Cup final. Too many spectators entered and people were trampled to death.
