Emil Martinsen Lilleberg (22) has signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL, which is one of the best teams in the world’s best hockey league.
This confirm Tampa Bay itself.
Sarpingen was designed by the Arizona Coyotes, but there she was scrapped when heart problems were discovered in a medical exam.
– Absolutely crazy after the slump I had with Arizona, and what happened there. I got bad news there, about the heart. They decided against it because of their hearts, said Lilleberg Online newspapers.
TV 2 hockey expert Jesper Hoel believes the back is up for bigger assignments.
– He has good size and good skating skills, as well as a real presence on the ice. Modern back type. It’s great that he got this opportunity, said Jesper Hoel.
The contract is billed as two-way, meaning Lilleberg’s annual salary would be at least $775,000 – about 8.5 million Norwegian kroner – if he plays in the NHL and significantly less if he plays in the AHL farmers’ league.
The PuckPedia website states that Lilleberg would earn around NOK 900,000 per season if he played in the AHL.
After all, he got a million kroner signing bonus. In addition, he can receive a bonus of up to 883,000 for the number of matches played.
Hoel believes that Lilleberg has a fair chance of playing in an NHL team in the fall.
– Tampa needs to update itself, so a player like Emil could have a useful opportunity there, with a good summer and a good camp.
Lilleberg played last season for Oskarshamn in the Swedish top flight, where he scored three goals and eleven points in 46 regular season games.
He has also played 20 matches for Norway in the last three World Cups.
During WC, Lilleberg spoke to TV 2 about heart problems and the future. Read the interview here.
