More details have emerged about the father and son who died at titanic disaster, now the teen’s mother has revealed she was on a support boat when the explosion occurred.
Christine Dawood, mother of 19-year-old Suleman Dawood and wife Shahzada Dawood, both of whom were in the wrecked submarine, revealed that she gave up her place on the trip so her son could leave.
Dawood and his 17-year-old daughter, Alina, were aboard the Polar Prince, a submarine support vessel, when Titan lost communication and was never heard from again, he told the BBC.
The mother of two revealed that she had backed down to allow her son to stand in for him on the trip, and she was “really excited” to try to break a Guinness World Record while doing so: solving a Rubik’s cube at 3,700 meters. under the sea.
UK-based business advisor Shahzada, 48, was one of five people who were on the submarine on June 18, with her son.
The duo departed with three other crew members, Hamish Harding, Stockton Rush and Paul-Henry Nargeolet on Sunday 18 June, but the submarine never returned.

Shahzada was born in Pakistan and lives in Surbiton in Surrey with his wife, Christine Dawood, and their two children.
The 48-year-old is a business adviser and serves on the boards of various charities and organizations.
At the time of his death, he was on the board of directors of Prince’s Trust International and co-chairman of the Engro Corporation of Pakistan.
In a statement before her death was announced, Shahzada’s family said: “Shahzada has actively championed a culture of learning, sustainability and diversity in her capacity as Vice President of Engro Pakistan Corporation.”

Christine Dawood is a coach and psychologist who was born in Germany. The couple has two children, Suleman, 19, and Alina, who is older.
Christine originally pursued a degree in engineering, but abandoned it when she was involved in a near-fatal plane crash in 2019 while traveling with her husband.
Writing about the incident on her blog, Christine said: “I have read many times that people start praying in such situations or that their life flashes through their minds like a movie.”

Suleman was studying business at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland when he embarked on the Titan journey with his father.

Speaking to the BBC about his son, Dawood said Suleman was “really excited” trying to break the world record with his Rubik’s cube underwater.
He said his son loves puzzle games and can solve them in just 12 seconds. The goal is to solve the Rubik’s cube 3,700 meters below sea level, thus achieving a Guinness World Record.
The Dawood family is believed to be among the wealthiest in Pakistan and has strong ties to Britain.
What happened to Shahzada and Suleman Dawood?
The father and son were pronounced dead on June 22, four days after they ventured into the Titan submersible with three others to descend into the Titanic wreckage.
The submarine departed on Sunday, June 18, but all contact with her was lost one hour and 45 minutes after the journey began.
One rescue mission included sending two remote-controlled vehicles to search the area around Titanic from surface to deep.
Less than four days after the first cruise took place, on Thursday, June 22, OceanGate Expeditions released a statement saying, “We now believe that our CEO of Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and sons Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding and Paul -Henri Nargeolet, unfortunately they will not appear again.”
