LATAM Airlines continues to expand its international routes between Europe and South America with the launch of the London – Lima route, which will offer five weekly flights from 2 December.
LATAM Airlines continues to strengthen its offer by confirming the launch of the new London – Lima route. This operation, subject to government approval, will begin its flights from 2 December, with 5 weekly frequencies (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday).
Operating with a Boeing 789 aircraft with a flight duration of 12 hours, this route will connect the Peruvian capital with London and Europe. The modern Boeing 789 aircraft has a capacity of 30 passengers in the Premium Business cabin and 270 in the Economy cabin.
LATAM Airlines’ announcement of the London-Lima route underscores the airline’s dedication to Peru’s commercial, tourist and economic development, through expanding its network with new destinations.
“We are pleased with the commencement of this operation. With our direct flight from London Heathrow International Airport to Lima. This is a historic milestone for LATAM Airlines, as we are the only airline directly connecting to Peru from the United Kingdom. This, coupled with the route we already operate to Sao Paulo, brings us to a 12 weekly frequency from the UK and consolidates us as the best option for passengers wishing to fly to South America, reaching 143 destinations in 22 countries,” said Davide Ioppolo, director Regional sales representative for Central and Southeastern Europe, UK, Nordic countries, Middle East and South Africa.
Heathrow Commercial Director Ross Baker commented: ‘We are delighted to welcome the new Lima LATAM to Heathrow service, the UK’s only direct connection to Peru. Thanks to simplified visa access and joint membership of CPTPP, UK passengers and exporters will benefit from this direct service. Whether traveling to explore historic sites like Machu Picchu, or opening the doors to expand trade, we can’t wait to welcome the first passengers on this new route.’
Lima, the heart of Peru, is a captivating destination that boasts a rich tapestry of cultural treasures. This vibrant capital city boasts a variety of historical gems, such as the impressive architecture of the Plaza Mayor, the intricate history preserved at the Larco Museum, and the colonial charm of the Church of San Francisco.
Lima’s artistic spirit thrives in neighborhoods such as Barranco, a haven for contemporary art, and Miraflores, known for its beach charm. The city’s culinary scene, renowned for its blend of flavors and innovation, is yet another integral part of its identity, making Lima a truly unparalleled and unique destination for British visitors to explore.
From Europe, LATAM Airlines operates to and from South American destinations from six countries: Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany, so the company offers a wide range of possibilities for both leisure and business travelers.
The airline also recently announced a significant increase in daily flights between Lisbon and São Paulo (Guarulhos) starting in November, operating between a weekly frequency of 10 and 11; with a larger plane, the Boeing 777 that allows you to expand your offer by up to 90%.
