On Radio Euskadi’s “Boulevard” we have been with some Moroccans living in Bilbao.
After the earthquake in Morocco, one of the destinations of Moroccan citizens in Euskadi, as well as the Al Forkan Islamic sociocultural center of the Basque Autonomous Community, was raising funds to help.
Many countries have offered this assistance since the beginning, but Morocco took more than 24 hours to receive it and only four countries received this assistance: Spain, United Kingdom, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. From Spain, 56 soldiers and 30 Emergency unit members are already on the ground with dogs and rescue technology. Also a group of United Firefighters Without Borders who will be there as long as necessary.
