The Chevening scholarship awarding ceremony to seven selected young people to complete master’s degrees at top British universities took place at the official residence of the heads of British diplomatic missions.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Chevening scholarship program in Venezuela, which has given several hundred young people the opportunity to specialize in various fields.
Seven students were selected from the 2022 call, namely Andrés Salerno Ocanto, Giorgio Cunto Morales, Eddward José Rangel Medina, Samuel Isaías Espinoza Matheus, Marian Da Silva Parra, Alexandra Claret Delsol González and Roxanne del Carmen Cabrera Baptista.
This group, like previous groups, was selected for its excellent academic record, leadership capacity and willingness to work for Venezuela’s development, as stated on the afternoon of the credential presentation.
This program not only provides them with academic growth, both humanistic and scientific, but also broadens their horizons as world citizens by coming into contact with other cultures.
This program offers full financial support to study any master’s degree offered by universities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The scholarship recipients were presented by Alexander Kushnarev, Chevening Scholarship Officer at the British Embassy, who highlighted the importance of this program to benefit young people from around the world; and Colin Dick, Chargé d’Affaires of the British diplomatic delegation, who referred to the importance of programs that seek to benefit developing countries through training young people in various disciplines.
On September 12, the Chevening scholarship application period reopened, offering a new opportunity to live an enriching experience while tapping into a lifelong global leadership network.
