Indra has become a world leader in ground-air communications systems for air traffic, aerospace and defense businesses, having completed the acquisition of British company Park Air with Northrop Grumman.

Coinciding with this milestone, Indra president Marc Murtra participated in a celebratory event at Indra Park Air’s headquarters in London, where he highlighted that “this operation consolidates Indra’s position in the UK as a leading technology company.” important sectors and increasing our presence in strategic markets. Meanwhile, Indra Park Air director general, Fiona Thompson, has indicated that “being part of Indra opens the door to some of the most avant-garde traffic and air defense projects in the world and enhances our ability to continue to innovate and deliver exceptional communications systems . “It is an honor for us to join this great company.”

Indra’s UK subsidiary was founded with more than 120 employees and a solid partner network enabling it to supply civil and military communications systems to more than 100 countries. Its primary customers include air navigation service providers (ANSPs), airports, system integrators and government military organizations.

This experience strengthens Indra’s position in competing for contracts around the world. Currently, Indra is competing in the NEXCOM Version 3 (V3) program, which is being tendered by the United States Federal Administration (FAA) to replace surface-to-air radios that have reached the end of their service life. For more than 25 years, Park Air has supplied its communications systems to these customers.

After receiving approval from the competent authorities, Indra closed the purchase process that began last June, when it reached the first binding acquisition agreement with Northrop Grumman.
