Prince William and Duchess Kate have made mental health one of their matters of the heart and watched a clip from the latest episode of “Shame” with the actors of the series.

The school grounds were filled with students from Hartvig Nissen when the royals arrived at 10 o’clock Friday morning.
The Duke and Duchess took plenty of time to greet those in attendance, who waited patiently in the winter cold.
Inside the school, they were greeted by the series’ actors.
P3 manager Håkon Moslet presented the series to the royals. Together with the actors, they watched footage from the final episode.
Moslet confirmed that “Skam” was not very well known in England and the Duke and Duchess had rarely seen it before their visit to Norway.
– This is probably more of an underground phenomenon in the UK. People have seen it on YouTube. This is especially the case in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. This is very difficult to do. It is a worldwide cult phenomenon.
Prince William exclaimed in turn “Really? Is that so? when students said that tourists from Japan, France, China, South Korea and Spain came to the school to see it “for real,” NTB wrote.
Among British journalists in Oslo, few had heard of the TV series before the visit. “Shame” has never been shown in the UK, and according to several journalists Aftenposten spoke to, the “Shame Phenomenon” isn’t that big in its home country.

– The fact that some of the most famous people in the world are bringing up mental health as a topic, I think could be very important, says Tarjei Sandvik Moe, who plays Isak in the series.
The royal couple gave the impression that they had not seen “Shame”.
– I don’t think they have seen it, because when we finished the conversation, Kate said she wanted to see it, says Carl Martin Eggesbø, who plays Eskil.
On the other hand, Norway’s crown prince couple seems to be very familiar with the series, the young actor added.
The actors emphasized that the royals seemed well aware of the content of the series, and asked good questions.
– They are very interested in how “Skam” was created and how the message came across. They are concerned with how popular culture can be used to convey important themes, explains Eggesbø.
Tarjei Sandvik Moe and Iman Jenisni (Sana) were both present at the dinner at the Castle the night before. They both stated that it was an experience.
– That’s magical. “I had to pinch my arm this morning,” said Jenisni.
The British Foreign Office wrote that “Shame” aptly describes many of the challenges facing today’s young generation, such as identity issues, bullying, relationships, sexual harassment and eating disorders. This is a problem the Dukes face at home in England, and it is one of the reasons why the couple wanted to visit the school in Norway.
