Netflix will launch its new package with ads on November 1, reports Variety. According to the site, Netflix put forward the launch of this new modality to beat Disney+ which will also launch plans with ads at the end of the year, on December 8.

Netflix’s original plan was to launch an ad-supported plan in early 2023, as announced during its Q2 2022 earnings report, where it revealed that it lost nearly a million subscribers. However, with Disney+ planning to get into the advertising game, Netflix is forced to put its new plans forward, at least in some countries.

Variety cited its sources and confirmed that Netflix would roll out its plans with its initial announcement in “several countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.” That way, his party will anticipate the plan with Disney+ ads that will be present on December 8 in the United States.
