President of the Republic, Louis Abinaderattended Thursday night the first inauguration open and vertical resonators (Fonar Upright MRI)installed in the new branch Abreu Cliniclocated on Rómulo Betancourt Avenue, in the National District.
It is a device that allows obtaining images of patients in any position, whether they are sitting, standing or lying down. It evaluates the impact of weight on joints and columns, making it an expanding platform for magnetic resonance imaging diagnosis.
Wilson Mourad, president of CDD Global Group, partner of Abreu Clinicexplained that the device would allow specialists to have more information and identify correctly the area that causes pain. He added that so far only nine leading countries in the field of medical technology have such equipment, such as: United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emiratesamong others.
He stated that, because it is an open resonator, it will facilitate a better examination of patients suffering from claustrophobia, and in the case of children, they can be accompanied by their parents during the procedure.
Mourad said that he open and vertical resonators will help the Dominican Republic position itself more as a destination for health tourism.
It Abreu Clinicfounded 81 years ago, will expand with radiotherapy oncology centers in the Southern region.
The event was also attended by Sergio de Peña, Chairman of the Board of Directors Abreu Clinic; Jesus Fernandez, director Abreu Clinic; José Joaquín Puello, member of the Board of Directors and at government level serves as president of Ciudad Sanitaria, among other figures from the health sector.
