He labeled PP’s fiscal proposal a “failure”: “Needed as a reference to the economic policies that have caused the UK to suffer”
MADRID, October 16 (EUROPE PRESS) –
PSOE spokesman and Minister of Education and FP, Pilar Alegría, have called on PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to bring a “realistic” proposal to next Tuesday’s Senate debate and not a “demolition and disaster” policy.
“I am very surprised that the PP was able to put forward a realistic and positive proposal taking into account the social majority of the country,” Alegría said at a press conference at PSOE headquarters, where he lamented that “the only thing” that the ‘popular’ has discovered is the “absence of ” and “negationism”.
For Alegría, for PP to offer “alternatives” would be “both for Spain and the citizens of the country”, but he believes that at present there is “no alternative” as, in his opinion, the secretary general of PP and spokesman for the Group made it clear Popular, Cuca Gamarra , on Thursday in the Congressional debate on the anti-crisis measures of the European Government and Council in Prague.
“It took only 50 seconds in Mrs. Gamarra’s mouth to show us that there is no alternative in the PP”, the minister sulked.
In this regard, he stressed that the PSOE would argue in the Senate with a “clear” project against PP “with no direction, focused on its own game” and without the prospect of “leading a real alternative to Spain.” “We don’t find Feijoo, that we listen to him talk and talk and sometimes no one understands anything,” he added.
“The Feijoo effect was non-existent, until now there was ignorance about him and it helped him, but now we hear him talking without saying anything (…) or seeking their own advantage, those who have the most,” he added. .
In this context, he criticized the steps proposed by PP in dealing with the crisis because they were based on “cutting public rights and services.” “PP is pulling back the old prescription of cuts and austerity for workers and tax rewards for the richest,” he warned, proving the Government’s commitment to social measures.
As such, he has branded the PP tax proposal a “failure”: “They are taking reference to the economic policies that have brought Britain to its death throes and which have half a star general reduction in taxes for the rich.”
“The proposal that Feijoo defended in Spain has lasted 40 days in the UK,” he warned. The British government reversed its fiscal plans.
On the other hand, Alegría has indicated that talks to reach an agreement that would allow reform of the General Council of Justice (CGPJ) are going “fairly well”, although he has demanded “wisdom and prudence” in this regard.
