‘Andor’ is a series of ‘Star Wars’ that will come to Valencia to shoot scenes from its second season

When the rumor started circulating through some local media, the international production that sounded like it didn’t fit the narrative. It is said that ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is already preparing for its next shoot in Spain, ignoring that the future of this galaxy proposal is still uncertain. In particular, according to Levante-EMV, the ‘Star Wars’ series starring Ewan McGregor has not only started looking for extras, but will soon land in Valencia with its main star. The aforementioned publication stated that the City of Arts and Sciences would be the selected setting to capture several scenes from the fictional season of television.

The thing is, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ hasn’t even confirmed a season 2 yet and, although the protagonists, with McGregor and Hayden Christensen in the lead roles, have always been more than willing to reprise their roles in a new series of episodes, Lucasfilm has yet to decide on the matter. That’s why filming in our country sounds so strange enough to speculate on the possibility that it is another series from home coming to film the sequence in Spain. Now, as eCartelera can confirm, it goes beyond that it is indeed not ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’, but ‘Andor’, the television fiction that will seek the setting for its second season in Valencia.. The series helmed by Diego Luna is not only fitting for its approach to work, but is currently deep in development for its season 2.

Tony Gilroy himself, creator of the series, has announced that production on its second season will begin in November, with an agenda that involves keeping the much-acclaimed dynamic from the first season. designed around natural settings and completely removed from El Volumennew technology that became popular with ‘The Mandalorian’, distinguished ‘Andor’ contrasts its visual style with that chosen to build on, among other things, the story told by the beloved Jedi master.

Meanwhile, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ chose to use the popular giant LED screen which served as the backdrop for many Disney projects, mostly shot at the Los Angeles studio, ‘Andor’ refused to use the technology. Gilroy made it clear that what he wanted for his galaxy series was a real setting, not an surround screen, explaining that it would be ideal to combine the two options, but that it although this possibility was not economically feasible, he preferred to shoot the old fashioned way.

So ‘Andor’ has come to Europe hand in hand with its first season to shoot the exterior between Scotland and England, so It’s not surprising that he’s looking for a similar structure for his production plan for the second season.. In fact, according Daily mailthe series is currently immersed in the filming of several scenes in London, the work that will precede his journey through our country.
