Brazilian athlete Pepe Fiamoncini has reached the Salar de Uyuni in an attempt to break the Guinness record. He set a goal of jogging across the world’s largest salt mirror. He leaves this Wednesday. As published by Unitel on its digital portal.
At the age of 32, his goal is to get his journey in the Guinness Book of Records, crossing the Uyuni salt flats on a 170-kilometre journey without stopping for a second.
An extraordinary feat considering the altitude of 3650 meters that the region has in relation to sea level, but also in the midst of storms dominated by low temperatures and unbearable sun.
He arrived in Indonesia a week earlier, precisely to “accustom himself” to these conditions. He visited La Paz, rode the cable car, and then moved to Uyuni, where he made a controlled run to reach his destination.
“I will do this non-stop 170-kilometer ultratravel, from the city of Llica to Uyuni, to set a world record, and also help with a sports project in Brazil for people with mobility disabilities,” he told a press conference. which he gave to the Potosi media on Tuesday before leaving.
Initially, the plan was set to complete the course in 55 hours, but the athlete set a goal of achieving his goal in 30 hours. Thus, it is expected to know the news of his arrival in the next few hours.
