Concerns overwhelm Amazon customers in the UK. The reason, as revealed by the BBC, many clients who accept cat food and other products instead of the high-tech stuff they had bought.
UK public chains have uncovered dozens of complaints this week for this very reason. It all started with a story they published and which showed a user case of an e-commerce platform that was bought an iPhone and got dog food instead. Since then, as they point out, many buyers have reached out to report their cases as well.
The case corresponds to a high-end product. For example, Jonathan bought a Sony Alpha 6-400 cell phone for £ 900, plus a lens for £ 520. Total, order for £1,420 where he received pet food.
In Heather’s case, her 15-year-old son asked for a computer “life savings”. The result is the same.
One of those affected submitted an image from a camera outside his home so the company could verify, in the first instance, that the delivery man was not I didn’t even knock on your door. Later, he had to claim again because they sent him pet food.
Amazon investigated the case
So, the BBC reviewed 5 cases in which the issue of product claims from Amazon stood out.
“When I opened the box a wave of panic overtook me, I was shocked to see Felix’s (brand of) cat food. I am very worried, because I know it will not be easy to get my money back,” one victim told the BBC.
Many of these problems have to do with signed the package without checking inside, so Amazon has refused to refund the amount. Once achieved, another obstacle is the time until payment is made.
The BBC points out that a spokesperson for the tech giant has assured that they are investigating what happened and has happened contact with those affected.
