Córdoba, venue of the 12th PRME Meeting

The 12th Principles Meeting for Responsible Management of Education (PRME) in Latin America and the Caribbean will take place between 1 and 2 November this year in the city of Córdoba.

PRME is a global platform promoted by the United Nations for learning and leadership that promotes responsible business education with a vision of triple impact, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The meeting will take place at the Faculty of Economic Sciences (FCE) of the National University of Córdoba (UNC). Calls for papers on academic papers on this subject and applications for the “Consuelo García de la Torre” sustainability award, which recognizes the work of business schools, will be open until August 18.

PRME is jointly organized by FCE-UNC and Blas Pascal University (UBP), through its business school, Córdoba Management School (CMS).

PRME’s goal is to train leaders and directors who are able to make ethical decisions, taking into account the social and environmental impact of their decisions. This year’s motto is “Shaping leaders with purpose”.

Some of the axes that will be discussed at this congress are: Sustainability management, CSR and organizations with a triple impact; climate crisis, biodiversity and regenerative development and governance, ethics, transparency and responsible investment, among others.

The participation of Latin American exhibitors from the business, civil society, government and academic sectors who have an interest in sustainable and responsible business is encouraged.

Catalina Alberto, dean of FCE-UNC, highlighted the importance of creating this knowledge space. “We believe in the generation of value from this encounter, which enables us to tackle the complex challenges facing universities, companies and society in the 21st century”, he explained.

Meanwhile Teresa Olivi, Chancellor of UBP, explained the fundamental role of higher education in the development of a sustainable conscience.

“Universities have a central role in articulating debates about key global challenges with companies, governments and society. Working together on education and sustainability is undoubtedly one of the most important challenges of our time”, said.

This program has more than 800 institutions worldwide, including the business schools of Johns Hopkins University, in the United States, and Oxford, in the United Kingdom.
