Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero-CruzThis Tuesday signed a book of condolences activated at the British ambassador’s residence, in Havana, over the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died last Thursday at the age of 96.
“On behalf of the Cuban people and government, we extend our deepest condolences to the British royal family and government and the people on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II,” wrote Marrero Cruz.
He added that Cuba appreciates the respectful relationship the king maintains with the island, as well as his contribution to the expansion of bilateral relations during his 70 years as Head of State.
“We ratify King Carlos III and the British government authorities, wishing to continue to strengthen our relationship”he concluded.
“We thank the Prime Minister #Cuba @MMarreroCruz has joined us today to sign the Book of Condolences following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of the Cuban people and government,” the British Embassy in the Cuban capital thanked via Twitter.
They were present at the signing of the condolence book Ananansi RodriguezDeputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, and Catherine BassaBritish charge d’affaires on the island.
British Embassy in Havana -located at 15 street number 352, Paseo corner, in El Vedado- The book of condolences for the death of Queen Elizabeth II will be open to the public on Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th.
On Thursdays it will be possible to sign between 10am and 12pm and from two to fourpm. For Fridays, it is open from 10 am to noon.

That same morning, her doctor announced that the Queen had a sudden decline in health and expressed concern about her condition. Members of the royal family rushed to Balmoral to say a final farewell to the king, who has reduced his public appearances in recent years and is finding it difficult to walk.

Elizabeth II’s reign lasted 70 years and 210 days, overthrowing her great-grandmother Queen Victoria and becoming the longest-serving monarch. It was surpassed only by Louis XIV of France, better known as “King of the Sun”, who held his position for a total of 72 years and 110 days.
Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral is scheduled for September 19 at 11:00 (local time) at Westminster Abbey in London, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
