British producer Tim Lamyman has managed to break two world records, as well as a Guinness record, in the cultivation of cereals using technology Ecocultural Biosciences who in previous years have also harvested these same production milestones in different crops.
On the one hand, this producer has broken the record for a winter wheat yield, with almost 18 tons per hectare, more than double the average yield in the UK, and increased the previous record by more than half a ton per hectare, which was at 17.40 t/ha by New Zealand’s Eric Watson, to be fixed at 17.96 t/ha.
Lamyman’s record came at the 2022 harvest, when UK wheat yields rose sharply despite a prolonged heatwave and drought, environmental factors for which farmers have found formidable allies in different solutions. Ecoculture. Lamyman reached this milestone on his 600-acre farm in Lincolnshire Wolds, where he grew the new Champion forage wheat variety.
The second record broken by Lamyman was in winter barley cultivation, where he alone had the best value before, with 14.20 t/ha, and has now exceeded 2 t/ha to 16.21 t/ha, on fertile soils and clay. Despite very dry springs, plants root deeply in dry autumn and chalky soil acts like a sponge to retain moisture, sustaining vigorous plant growth through spring and early summer. In addition to this record, this British producer recorded one of the highest yields in rapeseed cultivation this year, namely 8.98 tons per hectare.
technology from Ecoculture used by these British producers to achieve the record were NHDeltaCa, TipTop, CalFlux and XStress. NHDeltaCa optimizes plant growth and achieves better roots, better tillers and shoots, and larger and heavier grain. TipTop was developed for the rapid uptake of nutrients by plants, correcting micronutrient deficiencies. CalFlux increases flowering and increases grain count, delays pruning and improves grain production and quality, resulting in higher profit levels for farmers. XStress has been developed to alleviate the negative effects that certain stressful situations can have, such as high or low temperatures, drought or floods.
