London (EFE).- The leader of the Labor Party, Keir Starmer, this Friday accepted the task of King Charles III to form a government as Britain’s new Prime Minister, after holding an audience with the ruler at Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the royal family in London.
First speech to the nation
Starmer stated that Britain had “unequivocally chosen change” and “returned politics to public service” after winning the country’s general election.
The Labor leader delivered his first address to the nation from Downing Street – the seat of government – as the new Prime Minister after winning the general election with an absolute majority.
“My government will serve you, politics can be a force for good,” said Starmer, who also expressed his respect for the leadership of his conservative predecessor, Rishi Sunak.

The new Chief Executive thanked the outgoing prime minister, whose party today received its worst result in history by gaining 121 seats (out of a total of 650 seats).
