Erling Braut Haaland: – Scared the fans

  • Liverpool – Manchester City 3-1

MANCHESTER (Dagbladet): 16 touches on the ball during the game. A great chance from five yards that ended in a humiliating miss. And no goals.

It sounds brutal when your name is Erling Braut Haaland. But those who have played their own football – such as Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher – have nothing negative to say about the striker after Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool in the Community Shield.

It’s about the room he’s looking for and the race he’s trying. “There’s something there.” But the Norwegian giants and their team-mates are far from interacting.

– If you ask Haaland after the game: “Did they feed you the way you want?” Then he would probably say no. He won’t be happy, said Stuart Pearce, who coached City from 2005 to 2007.

– I think it might take a year, or a few years, before Haaland can establish himself well in the team.

Pearce – who is also interim coach for the England national team – let the words fall talkSPORT. This prediction was right to scare the fans and bring laughter to the blues of Manchester.

If that turns out to be true.

The former defense giant said:

– Haaland doesn’t feel the pressure. The boy had a father who had been involved in the game and guided him in a good way. I just think City have to find a way to get the best out of him. And I have seen it. They had to send the ball into the back room when he offered himself. If they do, he will score a lot of goals and as a result they will be a better team.

Manchester City are known to have more ball than any other team in England. Some experts suggest that they should release the ball more quickly when the opportunity presents itself for Haaland in the room.

– He likes having rooms he can meet. I’m not so sure he’ll get much out of it. “A lot of teams are very defense-oriented and low on opponents like Manchester City,” Pearce said.

Roy Keane believes it was only a matter of time before Haaland scored in the decisive match:

– What I saw of him today was very encouraging, he said during a live broadcast to ITV.

– Okay, he abused two occasions. But he got a chance. And it’s great to see him with the big hype he has. It made him a little humble and he wanted to work hard. There is no doubt that he will score goals.

Haaland is used to shining and excelling at Borussia Dortmund. 86 goals in 89 games says it all.

The fact that he played the entire game against Liverpool is one of the positives you can take. Wounded like him, it probably meant he had control over his body.

West Ham await in the Premier League on Sunday. But first the team had a good week of training at the Etihad Campus in Manchester.
